My position on the Master Plan

I believe our city’s Master Plan was rushed. I saw first hand the delays in getting this out to us and voiced my opinion throughout the process. Although I do believe thoughtful development can bring vitality and new opportunities to Côte Saint-Luc, it must always respect the character of our existing neighbourhoods, prioritize safety, and protect quality of life of the people of the Decarie Square area. That’s why I strongly advocated and successfully lobbied my fellow councillors to delay any rushed approval of the plan. We need proper traffic studies (which we did this summer), get real data, and transparent communication with the residents who will be most directly affected. Our community deserves a process that is thorough, responsible, and genuinely rooted in the values that make Côte Saint-Luc a great place to live.

While I have you here....

For years, residents of District 1 have been the furthest away from Côte Saint-Luc’s Public Safety station, despite facing the same expectations for rapid response and community protection as every other part of the city. As a nurse and the only councilor giving 100s of hours to our EMS program, I’m proud to be leading the effort to change that. The new Public Safety station will finally bring faster response times, better coverage, and a stronger sense of security to our area. This project isn’t a pipe dream, we already did studies, contract consultants and moving forward as soon as next year to ensure every resident, no matter where they live in Côte Saint-Luc, receives the same level of safety and service.
